Developing A Wealth Map

By now we understand how important the financial aspect of our life is, our next task is to venture on the journey of developing the guidelines for our wealth map. Knowing for a fact that everyone has a wealth map that is different and personalized, however, we have been provided guidance and a road map through the Quran and the sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh) regarding what our boundaries should be and where each road and path should lead. These boundaries and pathways will help us develop our own Personal Wealth Map.

Wealth Map? What does it mean?

The map looks like a MAZE! 

It is not a riddle as to what a Map depicts, it simply shows roads, pathways and directions. Amazingly!  Upon looking at the map it is no surprise that it looks like a maze, but through the maze you are smoothly able to navigate to your destination as long as you know where you are heading and what are the boundaries/ guidelines of your route.

 Boundaries of the route ! Yes, it is Important to know not only the destination, but also the guiding rules of the trip you will take. Once your destination for a holiday road trip is set what do you do immediately? You look at what the weather is going to be like along the route and at the destination, how long your journey is going to take, and then based on that you determine what you need to pack: clothes, snacks etc. how many stops you will make, the distance to cover and how long it should take. The time it takes you to get to your destination cannot be infinite, it has to be defined and then leave room for unexpected events that occur on the way. Sounds like a plan right!

Let's see where we can start off with the Financial Wealth Map.

Similar to your holiday journey planning to start off with your Financial Wealth map the first thing to clarify is where are you heading. By no doubt -- Destination Paradise!  by pleasing Allah (swt). 

Paradise is the ultimate destination of the righteous people and we want to be amongst them.

"O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and for that which brings one closer to it, in word and deed, and I seek refuge in You from Hell and from that which brings one closer to it, in word and deed."

Once we are certain of our destination only then can we carve out our path through the Financial maze of the ever changing worldy laws and rulings. With our destination in sight and the guidance from the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh) we can start our journey. Oh! Remember , we have to be prepared for the unexpected road bumps on the way.

Our Wealth Map will show us which paths can be taken, what is the most appropriate path for our personal situation, and the options we have in oder to take care of our finances as they are an integral part of our life, our Deen.

Once the destination is in sight, let's see what is the next step.
